Sejarah Linkin park

                            

Awal pembentukan Linkin Park yaitu dimulai dari pertemuan Mike Shinoda dan Brad Delson (gitaris Linkin Park) di kelas 7. Lalu mereka membentuk band bernama Xero. Brad juga bermain untuk band Relative Degree, salah satu personilnya yaitu Rob Bourdon (drummer Linkin Park). Mike berkenalan dengan Rob melalui Brad dan Rob bergabung dengan Xero. Saat kuliah, Brad berkenalan dengan Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bassis Linkin Park) yang merupakan teman sekamar Brad. Mike, yang mengambil jurusan ilustrasi di Universitas Seni Pasadena, bertemu dengan Joe Hahn (turntablis Linkin Park). Kemudian, Dave Farrell dan Joe Hahn bergabung bersama Xero. Dave sempat meninggalkan Xero untuk bergabung kembali ke band lamanya, Tasty Snax.

Mulanya, mereka merekrut Mark Wakefield sebagai vokalis, lalu diambil alih oleh Chester Bennington (mantan vokalis Grey Daze) sampai sekarang, sedangkan Mike lalu jadi rapper. Sialnya, karena nama Xero sudah dipakai grup lain, mereka terpaksa mengganti nama menjadi Hybrid Theory. Lalu, Hybrid Theory menandatangani kontrak dengan perusahaan rekaman bernama Warner Bros. Records setelah sukses meluncurkan EP yang bertajuk Hybrid Theory EP pada tahun 1999 sebanyak seribu keping

Sekali lagi, mereka terpaksa mengganti nama karena nama Hybrid Theory mirip dengan nama grup musik Hybrid yang berasal dari Wales. Daripada dianggap band yang sama, mereka memilih berubah nama lagi menjadi Linkin Park. Nama itu diambil Chester dari nama sebuah taman di Los Angeles, Lincoln Park. Agar bisa mengelola situs web sendiri, Chester mengubah ejaannya menjadi Linkin Park. Setelah itu, mereka berhasil membeli situs web linkinpark.com.

Bografi Chester Bennington

                        

Chester Bennington (lahir di Phoenix, Arizona, Amerika Serikat, 20 Maret 1976; umur 34 tahun) adalah vokalis dari grup musik Linkin Park. Sebelumnya, Chester tergabung ke dalam band “Grey Daze”.

Chester mempunyai satu proyek sampingan bernama “Snow White Tan” yang kemudian disebut Chester sebagai “Dead By Sunrise”.

Masa kecil

Sejak kecil Chester tertarik di bidang musik, dan inspirasinya adalah Depeche Mode dan Stone Temple Pilots. Orang tuanya bercerai di akhir 1980an, ketika Chester masih kecil. Akhirnya, Chester berusaha bangkit dengan menggunakan kokain. Chester akhirnya berhasil mengatasi kecanduan narkobanya. Ia bekerja di restoran Burger King sebelum memulai karier sebagai musisi profesional.

Karier
Awal karier di Linkin Park

Mulanya, band Xero kesulitan mencari vokalis baru setelah vokalis sebelumnya, Mark Wakefield keluar dari band lalu menjadi manajer Taproot. Mereka mendengar tentang Chester, yang berasal dari Arizona, Amerika Serikat. Xero langsung mengirimkan sebuah kaset kosong dan meminta Chester untuk merekam suaranya di kaset itu. Chester langsung merekamnya dan mengirimkannya kembali kepada Xero. Band itu terkesan lalu merekrut Chester ke dalam band. Setelah ini, Chester mengganti nama band Xero menjadi Hybrid Theory.
Dead By Sunrise

Pada tahun 2004 – 2005, beberapa anggota Linkin Park memiliki side project. Chester tidak ketinggalan. Ia lalu membentuk sebuah band yang bernama “Snow White Tan”. Namun, Chester sendiri merubah namanya menjadi “Dead By Sunrise”.

Kehidupan pribadi

Chester menikah dengan istri pertamanya, Samantha, pada 31 Oktober 1996. Mereka mempunyai satu anak, namanya Draven Sebastian, lahir pada 19 April 2002. Setelah bercerai dengan Samantha, Chester menikahi Talinda Bentley, mantan model majalah Playboy.

Chester Bennington Dukung LA Lakers

LOS ANGELES – Di tengah kesibukannya menjalani serangkaian tur promo album terbaru, A Thousand Suns, vokalis Linkin Park Chester Bennington menyempatkan diri menyaksikan klub basket favoritnya, LA Lakers.

Chester tertangkap asyik menyaksikan pertandingan LA Lakers kontra Trail Blazers Portland di Staples Center, akhir pekan kemarin. Penyanyi yang dikenal dengan ciri khas teriakannya itu datang bersama istrinya, Talinda Bennington.

Chester memang dikenal sebagai pendukung fanatik LA Lakers. Kehadirannya tak semata-mata untuk mengisi waktu luang, tapi juga sebagai perayaan ulang tahunnya ke 35 tepat di tanggal 20 Maret. Dia bahkan sempat mengunduh foto bersama sang istri melalui akun twitternya.

“Di lapangan menonton pertandingan LA Lakers. Terima kasih @TalindaB ! Selamat ulang tahun buat saya!!!” demikian tulisan dalam akun @ChesterBe.

Nicolas Batum memang mencetak angka tertinggi untuk Portland berkat 25 poin, empat rebounds, dan tiga assists. Sayang, itu tak bisa menyelamatkan Portland dari kekalahan.

Lakers mampu mengungguli Portland dengan skor tipis 84-80. Lamar Odum mencatatkan diri sebagai pencetak angka terbanyak di kubu Lakers dengan 16 poin, 11 rebounds dan enam assists.

Linkin Park adalah grup musik beraliran nu metal dan rock alternatif yang berasal dari Aguora Hills, California, di Amerika Serikat. Mereka sempat beberapa kali berganti nama, antara lain Xero, Hybrid Theory, 0818, hingga nama Linkin Park sampai sekarang. Nama "Linkin Park" sendiri merupakan plesetan dari nama sebuah taman di Los Angeles, Lincoln Park.
Sebelum Chester Bennington menjadi vokalis Linkin Park, Mark Wakefield lebih dulu menjadi vokalisnya. Namun, ia keluar dari Linkin Park untuk menjari proyek lain (menjadi manajer grup band Taproot)– saat itu menggunakan nama Hybrid Theory – untuk menjadi manajer grup musik Taproot. Bassis Dave Farrell alias "Phoenix" juga pernah keluar sebentar dari Linkin Park untuk mengikuti tur bersama band lamanya, Tasty Snax. Sedangkan 4 personil lainnya – Brad Delson, Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, dan Rob Bourdon – selalu bertahan di Linkin Park sejak awal pembentukannya.
Linkin Park telah merilis 4 album studio, yaitu Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Minutes to Midnight, dan A Thousand Suns. Linkin Park juga merilis album Live in Texas, Reanimation, dan Collision Course, serta Hybrid Theory EP. Linkin Park sukses dalam memopulerkan lagu-lagunya seperti Crawling, In the End, Numb, Somewhere I Belong, dan What I've Done. Secara total, album-album Linkin Park telah terjual sebanyak 50 juta keping.
